What Is The Inheritance?

Remember this: "... if you are Christ’s, then you are Abraham’s seed and heirs according to the promise," Galatians 3'29.

If you believe in Jesus, you began receiving from God even before you expressed faith in Him.

Your conscience, your circumstances or a "strange" coincidence or a puzzling, or a miraculous experience urged you to think that God had to be involved in your life somehow.

Eventually you became a Believer. In that process many marvellous spiritual things occurred.

The Inheritance is about marvellous spiritual things. Listen to this:

"For this reason we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to ask that you may be filled with the knowledge of His will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding;

that you may walk worthy of the Lord, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God;

strengthened with all might, according to His glorious power, for all patience and longsuffering with joy;

giving thanks to the Father who has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light.

He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love,

in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins," Colossians 1'9-14.

Regarding The Inheritance, Believers are told that "the Father . has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance".

That means no Believer has to strive but just be a believer and believe!

"... all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us," 2 Corinthians 1'20.

All these things make up Christ's New Covenant Kingdom Inheritance. Beginning on the Day of Pentecost, it is from the Father, ministered by the Holy Spirit in Jesus' name.

All that Jesus achieved, and everything to do with His work on earth, He has left to every everyone "who believes in Me," John 14'12.

And here's the abundant nature of The Inheritance:

"... when the kindness and the love of God our Saviour toward man appeared,

not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us,

through the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit,

whom He poured out on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Saviour,

that having been justified by His grace we should become heirs according to the hope of eternal life," Titus 3'4-7.

As he says, these things only happen because of God's mercy and His grace, His kindness and love.

RECEIVING

Believers partake of The Inheritance as by faith they hear and believe the word of Christ. Sometimes they receive without realising.

But the first thing that is received is salvation which is followed by the assurance that they are saved and no longer sinners.

At this time Satan is quick to stand against new Believers. But there is another of those marvellous spiritual things of The Inheritance that they can rely on:

Our heavenly Father "... has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the Kingdom of the Son of His love," Colossians 1'13.

Understanding this keeps the Lord's People strong and safe from the enemy's attempts to access their minds.

The scriptures of Acts 2'1 to Revelation 3'22 show instances of Believers learning, partaking by faith and experiencing The Inheritance.

Among those scriptures is the Letter to the Hebrew Believers.

Chapter 5'12 to 6'2 refers to "elementary principles of Christ" (6'1), also called "the first principles of the oracles of God" (5'12).

God has provided these principles for every Believer to know and experience (see Your Kingdom Foundation on the Menu).

When Jesus intervened in the life of Paul (Acts 26'18) He commissioned him to go to Jews and Gentiles for this purpose:

"... to open their eyes, in order to turn them from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God,

that they may receive forgiveness of sins and an inheritance among those who are sanctified by faith in Me".

Α-Ω

Prayer. Dear heavenly Father, thank you for providing The Inheritance in this present time and in the future.

In Jesus' name. Amen
