Hearing Him

Having the vision to express

the New Covenant Kingdom Word of Christ

(Acts 2'1 through to Revelation 3'22)

in speaking, believing, experiencing and doing.

<> <>

The differentchurch vision arose out the realisation of the importance of the Father's command to Believers to "Hear Him!" (Matthew 17'1-9).

Alongside that command, differentchurch tries to speak to

those who have left "church" but not the Lord

and those who have questions about the Biblical bases of “the Church” and Christianity.

Underlying the vision of differentchurch is the concern for those who have yet to hear the Good News of Jesus and God's Kingdom.

So differentchurch's vision of expressing the New Covenant Kingdom Word of Christ involves:

1. Asking the Father for the refreshing of the Holy Spirit.

2. Refreshing ourselves in the restorative power of the word of Christ.

3. Disposing ourselves to the Holy Spirit's ministry.

4. Observing the lives and ministries of New Covenant Saints.

Here are some scriptures relating to them:

1. Asking the Father in Jesus' name for the refreshing of the Holy Spirit.

- Jesus called out: "If anyone thirsts, let him come to Me and drink. He who believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, out of his heart will flow rivers of living water," John 7'37-38.

- "... how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!," Matthew 7'11.

- "... call on the Lord out of a pure heart," 2 Timothy 2'22.

2. Refreshing ourselves in the restorative power of the word of Christ scriptures of Acts 2'1 through to Revelation 3'22.

- "Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened," Matthew 7'8-9.

- "Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.

And whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him," Colossians 3'16-17.

- "... be filled with the Spirit, speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord," Ephesians 5'18-19.37.

3. Disposing ourselves to the Holy Spirit.

- "Repent therefore and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord," Acts 3'19-21.

- "Now the Lord is the Spirit; and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.

But we all, with unveiled face, beholding as in a mirror the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from glory to glory, just as by the Spirit of the Lord," 2 Corinthians 3'17-18.

4. Observing the lives and ministries of New Testament Saints who are portrayed in Acts 2'1 to Revelation 3'22.

- "Brethren, join in following my example, and note those who so walk, as you have us for a pattern ... For our citizenship is in heaven, from which we also eagerly wait for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ," Philippians 3'17-20.

- "... pursue righteousness, faith, love, peace with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart," 2 Timothy 2'22.

- "... I will pray with the spirit, and I will also pray with the understanding. I will sing with the spirit, and I will also sing with the understanding," 1 Corinthians 14'15.

- "... my speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, that your faith should not be in the wisdom of men but in the power of God," 1 Corinthians 2'4-5.

- "... not the word of those who are puffed up, but the power. For the Kindom of God is not in word but in power," 1 Corinthians 4'19-20.

Prayer. Heavenly Father, thank you for the New Covenant Kingdom word of Jesus the Anointed One.

And thank you, too, for the prospect of a great refreshing and restoring work of the Holy Spirit among the your People. For your glory.

In Jesus' name. Amen.
