When Jesus was tempted in the wilderness, He answered the enemy with scriptures He knew (Luke 1'13). For Believers, too, the word of God is the "sword of the Spirit" (Ephesians 6'17).
But, He possessed scriptures. They were part of Him. And they can be part of us. If you are yet to learn His word about living in Christ's New Covenant Kingdom of God, here are some verses:
"And this is the testimony: that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son.
He who has the Son has life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have life," 1 John 5'11-12.
"Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God
and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus," Philippians 4'6-7.
"Confess your trespasses to one another and pray for one another that you may be healed. The effective, fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much," James 5'16.
"I will pray with the spirit, and I will also pray with the understanding," 1 Corinthians 14'15.
"Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you," Matthew 7'7.
"If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!" Luke 11'13.
"If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give good things to those who ask Him!" Matthew 7'11.
"Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, being watchful to this end with all perseverance and supplication for all the saints," Ephesians 6'18.
Prayer. Heavenly Father, thank you for saving us, accepting us in The Beloved, changing us and being available for us to pray.
Thank you, too, for the ever-open access your Children have to you and your Throne of Grace.
In Jesus' name. Amen.
