CONSIDERING THE PRAYER

Believers know that in Jesus' name our heavenly Father provides, forgives, reveals and warns (and much more, of course). But these are mentioned because they are found in this "prayer".

But how do they relate to us today? As has been said earlier, Believers today consider these things having Christ's New Covenant Kingdom understandings. Here are some that apply:

- Our Father provides:

New Covenant Believers are told that:

"God is able to make all grace abound toward you, that you, always having all sufficiency in all things, may have an abundance for every good work," 2 Corinthians 9'8.

"... my God shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus," Philippians 4'19.

+ Matthew 6'11,8 says: "give us this day our daily bread" - "... for your Father knows the things you have need of before you ask Him".

- Our Father forgives:

New Covenant Believers are told that:

"If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness," 1 John 1'9.

+ Matthew 6'12 says: "forgive us our debts" (trespasses).

Our Father reveals to His Children the way of forgiving:

New Covenant Believers are told that:

"... Jesus said, "Father, forgive them, for they do not know what they do," Luke 23'34.

"Forgive, and you will be forgiven," Luke 6'37.

+ Matthew 6'12 says: "as we forgive our debtors" (those who trespass against us).

Our Father warns us of the enemy's determination:

New Covenant Believers are told that:

"... the Lord knows how to deliver the godly out of temptations," 2 Peter 2'9.

"Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Resist him, steadfast in the faith," 1 Peter 5'8-9.

+ Matthew 6'13 says: "... and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one."

Understanding what the New Covenant Kingdom word of Christ says about us brings victory.
