Kingdom Whole Gatherings

The Lord's inspired words in chapters 12, 13 and 14 of 1 Corinthians reveal what takes place when the Lord's People meet in larger Gatherings.

And the scope of the topics referred to shows that a significant number were involved.

These occasions were of great significance and mutual benefit, as the other scriptures of Acts 2'1 through to Revelation 3'22 reveal.

The name Whole Gathering is intended to be inspirational and a reminder that Saints who called out of the world will gather together "... till He comes" (1 Corinthians 11'26).

The two words come from two scriptures:

Whole is found in 1 Corinthians 14'23: "... if the whole Ekklesia of Christ comes together in one place".

Gathering is found in 2 Thessalonians 2'1: "Now, brethren, concerning the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ and our gathering together to Him".

These gatherings, having larger numbers, facilitate a range of ministries that would not be experienced in House Gatherings.

They include:

Celebrating the Lord's Supper-Table.

Remembering Christ until He comes again.

Being filled with the Spirit.

Participating in the manifestation of the Spirit.

Ministering to one another.

Teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs.

Singing and making melody in their hearts to the Lord.

Singing with grace in their hearts to the Lord.

Giving thanks always for all things to God the Father in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Speaking to one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs.

Submitting to one another in the fear of God.

Manifesting the fruit the Holy Spirit.

God calls all these things are to be carried out in love.

The phrases in 1 Corinthians 11 ("as often as" and "when you come together") indicate regular Gatherings.

When to gather would fall to Overseeing Elders ("the presbytery", 1 Timothy 4'14) and to Deacons for the arrangements.

Arranging a Gathering may involve the Elders in relevant teaching for the Believers. (See The Lord's Supper-Table and Whole Gatherings & The Spirit on the Menu).

Gatherings could be for a variety of activities, such Kingdom Weddings or something that requires some Eldership teaching, discussion or guidance.
