The Kingdom of God Today

1 and 2

Jesus said,

"Most assuredly, I say to you,

unless one is born again,

he cannot see the Kingdom of God,"

John 3'3.

As the Lord makes clear in the above words, the ability to see the Kingdom of God comes only as the result of an experience.

Further to that He speaks in Matthew 24'14 of "this Good News of the Kingdom". In using the word this, He shows He is referring to the Kingdom He constantly preached about.

It is His New Covenant Kingdom of God. He is its Author. So the Kingdom that Believers can experience today begins with Him.

He concluded His Kingdom teachings during the 40 days prior to His ascension. However, since then they have been clouded by teachings that hardly have their start in Him.

Now it's time to go to the word of Christ for His Kingdom understandings! And the Holy Spirit also presents His teachings through Paul and the other New Covenant Kingdom scribes in the scriptures of Acts 2'1 through Revelation 3'22.

Jesus began His Kingdom teachings by establishing that, for this present New Covenant age, Kingdom for Believers is firstly to do with the Father:

“Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name.
Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven."
"For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen." (Matthew 6'9-10,13.)

These words describe the attitude of His People in regard to living in His Kingdom. It's to be our manner of life, as it was with His Son.

When He came Jesus brought the marvellous "... glad tidings of the kingdom of God" with Him (Luke 8'1).

The fact is that all of His and all of the Holy Spirit's teachings teachings pertain to Christ's New Covenant Kingdom of God.

This Good News reveals that God's Kingdom can be seen, it can be entered, it can be sought and Believers can be continually receiving it. (More later.)

But how do the Lord's Called-Out People experience His Kingdom understandings?

As has been said, a person has to be "born again", from above, "of the Spirit", "born of God".

These, and many other wonderful Kingdom things, happen when an unbeliever is repenting and receiving Christ. (More later.)

New Covenant Kingdom of God teachings emphatically affirm that each of God's Children is in a place to receive understanding and blessings.

It's all spelt out for us. So we -

"... give thanks to the Father who has qualified us to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in the light.

He has delivered us from the power of darkness and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love,

in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins," Colossians 3'12-14.

Let us rejoice in these words and hide them in our hearts.

Being in the "kingdom of the Son of His love" is to be in the place the Father Himself puts each of His Children. It's the same day-to-day relationship place as Jesus had.

So, our Kingdom inheritance lies before us right here, at the place where we have ears to hear - that is, to “Hear Him!” - as the Father has directed us (Luke 9'35).
