The Kingdom of God Today

1 and 2

Jesus said,

"Most assuredly, I say to you,

unless one is born again,

he cannot see the Kingdom of God,"

John 3'3.

As the Lord makes clear in the above words, the ability to see the Kingdom of God comes only as the result of a spiritual experience.

Added to that He speaks in Matthew 24'14 of "this Good News of the Kingdom". In using the word this, He shows that He is referring to the Kingdom He is teaching about and which can only be seen by those who have been born again.

Jesus is the author of it. It is His New Covenant Kingdom of God. So the Kingdom understandings that Believers can experience today begin with Him.

He concluded His Kingdom teachings during the 40 days prior to His ascension. When the Holy Spirit came He began to clarify it.

He began presenting the word of Christ through Peter, Paul, Luke and the other New Covenant Kingdom scribes.

Now the word of Christ can be found primarily in Acts 2'1 through to Revelation 3'22. Today's disciples can go to there and receive wonderful Kingdom understandings.

When He came Jesus began preaching the "... glad tidings of the kingdom of God" (Luke 8'1). As well as being seen, His New Covenant Kingdom can be entered, it can be sought and it can be continually received.

And it's when an unbeliever repents and receives Christ that those understandings and experiences become available:

"... as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name:
who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God," John 1'12-13.

As Jesus says, being born again of the Spirit, that is, being born of God from above opens the way.

Subsequently, there are many wonderful Kingdom blessings to be received from the inheritance in Christ for these "new creations".

The Lord explains that their new Kingdom life is basically all about their relationship with their heavenly Father.

But it is more than a relationship as an individual, it is a relationship that is experienced together with other members of His family.

In Matthew 6'9-10,13 He outlines the kind of manner or disposition that typifies the family of God:

“Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name.
Your kingdom come. Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven."
"For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen."

It's our privilege to have this manner of godly life as we live in our Father's Kingdom. (Click on Kingdom Praying 1&2 for more.)

One of the many glorious things that the Father does at the time a person is born again is to "deliver" them. Colossians 3'13 makes a marvellous statement:

"... He has delivered us from the power of darkness

and conveyed us into the kingdom of the Son of His love ...".

These are marvellous words to hide in our hearts, especially the remarkable reality of living in "the kingdom of the Son of His love".

So, when we were born again our Kingdom inheritance was made immediately available to us.
