Kingdom Fellowship

Α-Ω

"truly our fellowship is with the Father

and with His Son Jesus Christ"

---

After Peter preached on the Day of Pentecost (Acts 2) many believed and over three thousand were saved that day.

The apostles began presenting the things about Christ and the New Covenant Kingdom and, through the Spirit, the new Believers received powerful understandings and experiences.

And they -

"... continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, in the breaking of bread and in prayers," Acts 2'42.

Some of them would have heard Jesus speak about "Our Father" on the mountain (Matthew 6'9-13).

Now they could experience the immediate intimacy of the fatherhood of God, calling Him Father.

That's fellowship. And it lies at the heart of the life and worship of God's People.

::

Galatians 4'6 says: "God has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into your hearts, crying out, 'Abba, Father!',” .

And 1 Corinthians 1'9: "God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord".

"FELLOWSHIP WITH US"

The apostle John brings out the family intimacies of fellowship. By the Holy Spirit He says:

"That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, concerning the Word of life

the life was manifested, and we have seen, and bear witness, and declare to you that eternal life which was with the Father and was manifested to us -

that which we have seen and heard we declare to you, that you also may have fellowship with us; and truly our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ.

And these things we write to you that your joy may be full.

This is the message which we have heard from Him and declare to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all.

If we say that we have fellowship with Him, and walk in darkness, we lie and do not practice the truth.

But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin," 1 John 1'1-7.

These are inspired, powerful and beneficial words to meditate on.

They reveal what the Father has bequeathed and His Children have inherited through the Son.

WE ALL HAVE ACCESS!

"... through Him we both (Jew and Gentile) have access by one Spirit to the Father," Ephesians 2'18.

To all have received the Lord the Holy Spirit grants the most precious of things, access into the presence of God.

James knew this access well.

"... He gives more grace. Therefore He says: 'God resists the proud, But gives grace to the humble.'
Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.
Draw near to God and He will draw near to you," James 4'6-8.

The promise of fellowship is sure in spite of the devil's efforts. In this place of intimacy Believers can thank Him for His presence and authority.

But just think of it. When we were as far way as we could be, God drew near to us first! It was then, in His mercy, He revealed to us our sin and our need of salvation.

When we asked Him to forgive us. He did! When we asked Jesus to come into our hearts, He did. Hallelujah!

Fellowship is a wonderful time of thanking, praising, conversing, singing and praying.

Whether personally, with a small group or in a larger gathering, fellowship can be a a very uplifting experience.

"The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ,

and the love of God,

and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit

be with you all.

Amen,"

2 Corinthians 13'14.
